The Community Development Workers delivered
The Community Cohesion Programme Consultation Event in Birmingham Camphill, on the 26th Febuary 2013.
The event started with Caron Thompson and Helen Wadley, Chief Executive of Birmingham MIND explaining the how the partnership was established and background of the CDW service. Kiran Kenth Health Improvement Specialist and Baljit Bahi Joint Commissioning Manager went onto talk about the Community Cohesion Programme, the seven strand which the CDWs deliver against and how it related to the local and national health agenda.
The first airing of a film capturing experiences of people across Birmingham, who have been engaged in our programmes (URBRUM, Get into reading, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid etc) was shown. The movie will be avalible shortly to view on the Common Unity website.
The consultation event was then lead by the Community Development Workers Ibrar Uddin and Aiesha Wright who involved the crowed with a little Q and A to warm them up, they than went on to discuss the feedback and experiance they have recived from members who partisipated on the training courses.

The event offered free Hair Cuts a way for the public to get involved in with different barbers/stylist from birmingham as well as free massages, the event also istablished the launch of URBRUM Magazine issue two and the new 5 ways to well being application.
